The 'Star Trek' film poster obviously has an instant appeal to science fiction film and 'Star Trek' lovers alike. The film has a dark background with an extremely light foreground center which is symbolic of space and the planets in space. The poster is very dynamic in the way that it almost gets straight to the point with a space ship in the middle of the poster. This is informative in the way that anybody looking at the poster will understand that the film is to do with space. There is a character in the background of the film poster at the top of the screen who viewers of the poster, even if they haven't seen 'Star Trek' before, will identify him as being a villain due to the fact that he has an evil smirk. This alone will attract an audience as people who see the poster will want to know what this character's intentions are and what they outcome of the film may be. Like many film posters, at the bottom of the poster there is the exact date in which the film will be released in cinemas. This is easy advertizing and will let viewers know how soon they can see the film.
