Going Vertical


From this film poster for the film 'Going Vertical' we can see that the film revolves around surfing. This film poster will draw massive appeal in the way that we can instantly tell that the film is set in America due to the large american flag at the top of the poster.
Another element of this poster in which will attract people to watch the film is the fact that there is a massive wave with two surfers riding it. This large picture will not only draw attention of viewers but also encourage people to go out and see the film when it is released as they will want to see more images and footage similar to the picture in the background of the poster.
The colour theme in this poster is predominantly blue in which relates to the sea and freedom of the sky.
The title in itself will attract people to see the film in the way that 'Going Verticle' symbolizes a massive verticle wave. This gives people the idea that the film is going to include people surfing waves which at times look so big and steep that at times they could be verticle.
To the right hand side of the poster we can see a list of names of the actors who are included in this film. This is useful due to the fact that people who are observing the poster can pick up on familiar names or people who they admire for previous performances etc.
The subtitle - 'The Shortboard Revoloution' also will attract people who are into surfing and who enjoy shortboarding to watch the film as they may not not a detailed hitsotry of the revoloution of shortboarding and so in turn may be interested in watching this production.

Blue Crush


From this 'Blue Crush' poster we can instantly tell that the film is about surfing due to the following elements:
First of all there are three surfboards on the poster and so surf-lovers everywhere will be attracted to this film. Secondly, the name 'Blue Crush' also gives the idea of big bue waves crushign down and so we can interpret the film is about surfing.
The catchline at the bottom of the poster - 'If you want to feel the rush, you have to take the risk,' promises the audience an exciting film involving lots of 'edge-of-your-seat' moments.
The three models on the front of poster also hint that the film will involve lots of people who are not wearing very much due to the fact that they will be spending most of their time down at the beach in hot weather. This will attract people to see the film itself.
The colour theme as shown on the poster seems exciting as there are a wide range of bright, interesting colours which may symblize to the viewer that the film is going to be exciting.
The massive wave in the background signals that this is no ordinary surf-documentary-esc film and that it's gritty realsim and hard-hitting footage is a must watch.
The film poster also leaves the audience in a state of awe and wonder in the way that it is already beginning to depict a story in that we can see that these girls have already been in the sea, surfing some incredibly large waves. This then means that the film must contain eveidence for this and so we wonder how long a person can escape the furiouse grip of nature?
Finally, in the way of a subtitle, there are names of people and companies printed underneath the main title.
This attracts people to watch the film in the way that they are able to see and spot any names of people or companies who they rate well from previous productions.

Into The Blue


From this poster we can tell that the film is set in or at least near the sea which may be attractive to some people. We can also expect the sea to play a heavy part in the film due to the title 'Into The Blue' and the subtitle 'Hold Your Breath' - which also suggest that at least some of the film involves an underwater struggle which may intrigue the audience.
The two attractive models on the front of the poster may be an instant eye-catcher and hold the attention of the poster viewers.
From this film poster we can also expect the film to include some amazing scenery. We can tell this from the beautiful sunset in the background and deep-blue sea at the footer of the poster.
In the background of the poster, looking into the distance we can also see a helicopter which grabs the viewers attention int he way that something such as a helicopter would not normally be included in such an environment. In turn, this makes the audience think about what the story may involve and so they will want to find out what the sotry actually entails.
In the foregorund, the viewer will be able to see a speedboat which appears to be travelling at speed due to the splashback and so from this the viewer will be able to expect some rivetting action scenes and perhaps some hard chases which is a concept and feature of films which will attract a large target demogrpahic of action-genre lovers.

The Mummy


Here we have a film poster advertizing the release of the film 'the Mummy'. Instantly the viewer can recognize that the film is to be set in Eygpt due to the pyramids. This may spark the attention of those interested in different cultures as they may see the film as an opportunity to experience and see different culture.
From the film poster we can also see a large evil-looking face in which is formed from sand. This signals to the audience that the film is going to be of the horror genre as it shows evil surroundign the setting.
The 'dark sand' colour theme also signals to the audience that the film is to be of a horror genre as they can tell that beneath the colourful landscape of the pyramids, darkness lurks.
From this poster we can also tell that the film is to be released on the 7th of May and through this we can expect the viewers of the poster to be eagerly anticipating the first screening whilst spreading the news of the new release through word of mouth.
The caption and the bottom of the poster acts almost as a slogan as such, in the way that it exists to serve the purpous of attracting the audience to see the film.

Jaws


From this film poster we can instantly tell that the film is of a horror genre due to the fact that we can see the attacker, a shark with ferocious-looking jaws heading in the direction of a stereotypicall helpless damsel in destress. The fact that the film title (written in blood-red) is named 'Jaws' also signfies to the view that the film sif going to involve jaws (of a shark) and is probabaly going to be quite gorey.
The subtitle at the top of the poster confirms the audeiences's idea that the film is going to be scary in the way that it is the 'terrifying number one best sell' which in a lot of people's eyes means that the film has a guaranteed scare factor!
Below the main frame in the center of the poster is three names of well-known actors which some people will recognize from previous films and will want to see.
We can tell from the shark and the sea and light/dark blue colour theme that the film is going to be set out at or a least near the sea which may attract peopel to watch the film.
People, when looking at the poster may be attracted to see the film in the way that they may feel that the shark is absoloutly massive compared to it's prey and so the film may tell an interesting tale of an epic struffle between good an evil; between man and and this beast.

In this poster for the film 300 we can instantly going to be bloody. We know that the film is going to involve lot's of blood due to the fact that the signifier is the colour red for the title of the film in which is splattered across the screen. The signified and the image we think of when we witness the signifier is blood, like blood red for example.
From this poster we can also see that the film is goinng to be quite mysterious due to the smoke. We can also tell that the film may perhaps be quite naturistsics due to the enlarged picture of the moon at the top of the picture in the background.
The colour scheme in this film poster is black, red and white and gives an eerie feel to it which will attract people who are intriguied to find out what the film is all about.
We can also see form the bottom of the poster when the film is due to be released. This will keep the viewer in eager anticipation to watch the film.
From the model used in the poster we can also see that the film may contain scenes of a sexual nature which may attract people to watch it also.
