Analysis of 10 Film Posters:

This film poster for 'The Matrix' is very striking because the film appears to be very futuristic, which is significant in the way that it would appeal to a large target audience of science fiction lovers.
The color theme of the poster is important because the shades of silver and grey signify machinery along with weapons. The title of the film stands out due to the fact that there is a blue shade in which covers the word 'Matrix', This makes the word stand out from the background and makes the poster informative also. The character standing in the foreground of the poster seems to be very stylish and interesting too.
His identity seems to be moderately concealed and he is wearing glasses which covers his identity even more so. This will be appealing to people viewing the poster due to the fact that they will be lured into wanting to find out more about this mysterious character, which, of course, can only be achieved by watching the film itself. Another factor which 'sells' the film to the audience is the woman standing in the background. The woman is also very stylish and good-looking which is something which will appeal to a whole gender (men). Stereotypically, 'science geeks' or people who don't have much of a social life or contact with females will also find the woman in the film poster's background very appealing and will perhaps want to watch the film to find out more about her. The fact that all the characters are wearing black symbolizes that they are working together as a team. This will appeal to a large audience because of the fact that people will be drawn in as they will want to see this team battle it out throughout the film.
